Sunday "hike"

This week we interpreted "hike" a little broadly and just had a day worth of fun outdoor activities. Starting with...

Apple picking!
We went to the abandoned orchard of a local ag. school. No one picks there, so the trees were loaded. We filled the trunk of our car in 45 minutes from just one tree. It was amazing.

Little bean got to climb the tree, which made his day.

We followed that up with a visit to a dairy farm festival, where we ate ice cream and...

watched the milking demonstration (and admired all the farm machinery, of course)

Then over to Grandpa and Weewee's new land! To throw wood chips,

stand in the living room admiring the view,

and get put straight to work.  Here is little bean cutting down his first tree.

And his second tree.

Boom!

And his third tree! (kidding)

In other news, we're spending lots of time mowing

with proper hearing protection, of course.

And this week finished up little bean's first full week of preschool!

Here he is on his way to day one.
The transition was a little rough, but he's pretty well settled in now and seems to be enjoying it.

Now, to make some applesauce!
